HI, I’M ALEXA!

THE BEGINNING

Long before wedding planning and coordination stole my heart, I got my start in the wedding industry as a DJ in 2012. I was so nervous for the first wedding I was a part of, but, within minutes of the event beginning, I was hooked. The emotion, the beautiful details, friends and family looking to the couple with so much love and support, the vendors all working seamlessly to make the couple’s day special; there wasn’t a single thing that didn’t leave me star stuck.

As a DJ, I would occasionally have the opportunity to take over the role as coordinator when a professional hadn’t been hired (give a microphone to a bleeding heart and I was obviously left with no other option but to help!) At the end of those rare and wonderful nights all my efforts proved worth it when couples were smiling while vendors where telling me I should do coordination professionally. I did love jumping into the role of coordinator, but the thought of switching careers didn’t occur to me until I began helping my sister plan her wedding. I was instantly in love with every single aspect of the process. So much so, I couldn’t imagine this process ever coming to an end!

From there, I started on my path as a professional wedding planner. I spent the next few years growing my knowledge, passion, and company. Just as I neared my five year anniversary as a wedding planner in LA, life called my husband and I back home to Florida. While LA weddings are still very much a part of my life, planning weddings close to home is always a plus!

WHY WEDDING PLANNING

There is a very special brand of crazy that enjoys wedding planning… or so I’m told. But is it really that crazy to love making someone’s dream day, well, a dream? Of course, wedding planning isn’t appealing to everyone, but to me it’s preferable! Being a wedding planner offers the opportunity to work closely with my couples, getting to know you, your likes, dislikes, passions, values, etc. in order to develop a wedding plan that truly reflects YOU. We work hard together and create something wonderful: a celebration of your love, your support system, communities you cultivated independently that are coming together to share in one great cause- YOUR HAPPINESS! There are a lot of reasons to love wedding planning, but I can’t think of anything that is more significant than that.

MY STYLE

In a nutshell, I am the most laid back Type A person around. I’m organized but unbothered by disorder- I just redirect. I am gentle but I am firm. I am the net that catches and navigates wedding anxieties with a smile and a plan.

No matter if I’m planning your wedding or simply stepping in during the month prior to coordinate, I am in your corner to ensure your day isn’t just a wedding, it’s your wedding! After years in the service industry, a few years as a behavioral therapist, and then even more years in the wedding industry I am quick on my feet, a pro problem solver, and a master at keeping calm in even the highest of pressure situations.

Wedding planning brings me so much joy, and I hope that some of that joy can flow into you. I encourage my clients throughout the planning process by breaking down the large daunting task of “wedding planning” into smaller more manageable month-by-month tasks. I support you through vendor selection, budget management, design vision, and so much more. Together we check off the to-do list during our frequent meetings, always checking in to ensure plans are moving forward in the way you want at a pace that works for you.

After all of the hard work and effort you put into creating this magical day, and it can be hard to be removed the day-of. Over the years I have developed tools to ensure the I not only understand the plan on paper, but also in practice. I work hard to truly absorb your vision, so I can make sure all of your hard work comes to fruition!

WHO AM I?

I grew up in Gainesville, Fl before moving to Tallahassee, Fl to attend Florida State University. After my husband (then boyfriend) and I graduated in 2014 we packed up our dogs and headed for Los Angeles. We lived in Los Angeles from 2014-2023, but home was calling so we headed back East to the sunshine state! My dogs are my official besties/office assistants (they’re aren’t very good at office work… but they’re pretty dang cute!).

I love to travel and do so as often as I can. I let my stomach do the picking on travel destinations and it has led me to some awesome places! In my spare time I am a karaoke junkie, a sushi snob (not my favorite word, but I am what I am), a wine connoisseur, and an avid reader. I love crafting and creating which is just one more reason I love wedding planning! When I can combine crafting, drinking wine, eating sushi, and singing along to my favorite tunes with my dogs by my feet and my husband by my side in some interesting corner of the world with a good book waiting for me I am truly in my happy place! Being a wedding planner is the only thing that could call me away from singing into sushi with my loved ones. I am so fortunate to be able to spend every hour I call “working” living out my other passion- planning weddings! I can’t wait to meet you and make some magic!
